Seeing the world through the windscreen of a car and also passing by in side- and rear-view mirrors is a very good experience. This sense of accomplishment when you finally get to the place that you were travelling to is also something special, even better when at the end of your way, there is a view that you wanted to see. Be it your home, holiday destination, the sea or the mountains, your family or just a dog waiting. When you drove there, you've done it, you're happy that you've achieved it. And all you seen on your way, it's yours, the part of the World is yours. You have seen this part through the glass in your car, reflecting in your mirrors and you've set your foot in many places. The images are imprinted in your mind, you don't even need the 'real' pictures from the camera. And being a photographer I can say that driving is the only state in which, for me, the photographic camera is obsolete and unnecessary (of course until you get to some nice places or until you see something extraordinary on your way). But anyway, of many things that I was doing in my life there's only a few into which I'm truly giving myself, fully, with heart and soul. And one of these things, above photography, is driving. And it has to be driving without the everyday-type of reason. Not driving to shop or around town, sorting usual business. No, it has to be driving for fun, or driving to holiday destination, or at least driving away for few hours/days - driving to leave all the troubles and worries behind and enjoy the peace of mind. It is possible with family (trust me, I tried - they all sleeping most of time), it is possible with just one person that you love most and it is possible completely on your own (when you can work things out, when you've got the time and space to be with yourself).
The car as we know it today, combined with autobahn or twisty B-road and some point on the map called the 'destination' - this is the recipe for healthy mind and cure for many everyday problems, such as pace of this World. You'll see the World passing by, in your car's mirror, adjust the speed to your needs - slow down or speed up - when you feel like.
